Prep ILAC (Institute for Latin American Concern) has sent students to live and work in the Dominican Republic since 1993. Each year, students spend two weeks living with a Dominican family and working on a project based on a determined need of the campo. Throughout the trip, students are immersed in the culture of the Dominican Republic through their contact with the families, work, trips to Haitian migrant villages, excursions in the Dominican city of Santiago, and one day in the primarily tourist region on the north coast of the island.
