ABBY's House (Worcester, MA)
Abby's House is a shelter for homeless, battered, and low income women and their children in the Worcester community. We open the shelter in the evenings, interact with the guests, and return to campus the following morning. Abby's House provides a safe, supportive environment for women in the community and Holy Cross volunteers to learn from one another. Evenings spent at the shelter are a great time to offer an ear to the stories and struggles of these women's lives.

Comunidades en Movimiento(CEM) (Los Angeles, CA)
CEM is an action group which organizes residents,women particularly, around issues that affect them and engages them in initiatives that create a lasting change. A fundamental goal is to address and break the cycle of poverty within and beyound this community. CEM impacts over 1000 residents through various safety, health and leadership development initiatives. A few of CEM's projects include: the Women's Project, Health Workshops, the Safe Passage Campaign, DM Safety Project, Leadership Training and Voter Registration.

To tackle this social justice issue, the DV task force believes that a response from our faith-based communities is appropriate and necessary. Such a response involves developing a coalition of faith communities to work on ways to address DV.
