Brebeuf Jesuit's Community Service Program (Indianapolis, IN)
Community service sites include clinics, hospitals, schools, youth centers, service centers and homes for the physically and developmentally disabled, retirement facilities, therapeutic riding and youth sports programs, nursing home, and homes for unwed mothers. By the end of any semester, Brebeuf Jesuit students will have give more than 900 hours of service to the community.

The Center for Service and Social Action seeks to develop service opportunities which build relationships, enhance learning, encourage active citizenship, and support the John Carroll University mission to "inspire individuals to excel in learning, leadership, and service in the region and in the world." We offer a variety of programs to meet the needs of our community partners and the interests of our service participants, including Service Learning, Voluntary Service, Service Projects and Events, and service-based Immersion Experiences.

Integrated Service-learning Community- CSJ has developed an Integrated Serivce-Learning Community located in the Belmont neighborhood in the Bronx where students committ to ongoing volunteering during the year and participate in weekly reflection and community building activities.

Education for Justice (Washington, DC)
The Education for Justice Project promotes outreach and education throughout the U.S. on Catholic Social Teaching (CST) and social justice issues. The Project provides resource materials, presentations, training and consultations to Catholic high schools and colleges, to diocesan offices and groups, to parishes, small faith communities, and to a variety of networks and organizations.
Fair Trade Club (Cincinnati, OH)
focuses on education and action to promote trade practices that support human dignity, economic justice and international solidarity. Here on campus the club works to encourage the use of fair trade coffee and other products.

The Poverty and Solidarity program seeks enhance student learning about poverty through:
• Development of an interdisciplinary course and summer internship sequence for students seeking a deeper understanding of poverty
• Creation of interdisciplinary and discipline-based courses that will embed the study of poverty throughout the curriculum
• Establishment of a public lecture series to educate both the university and Greater Cleveland communities on poverty
The Program also hosts a "Poverty and Solidarity Faculty Learning Community" to engage faculty from throughout various disciplines in dialogue and focused study of local, national, and global poverty leading to the development of courses on poverty or modification of existing courses to include a component on poverty.
Social Justice Ministries at The Holy Trinity Parish (Washington , DC)
The Social Justice Ministry responds in prayer and reflection, direct service, education, advocacy, and donations to the needs of the parish, to the social needs in the diverse urban diocese and community who are our neighbors, and beyond these borders to a sister parish and national and international Jesuit social services. When program priorities are being set and choices made about resource allocation, the Ministry actively advocates for preferential treatment for the poor and marginalized in our community in light of the Gospel, Catholic Social Teaching and the priorities of the Jesuit Conference.

JESSE TREE ministry provides warm gloves, hats, sweaters, scarves and other essentials which are given to homeless men and women at Christmastime.

JUSTICE & PEACE: The Justice & Peace Committee is chiefly engaged in education and advocacy. It educates parishioners by circulating materials or organizing events that clarify and advocate the Church's social teaching on economic and political issues that impact peoples and cultures throughout the world. It also identifies particular programs or organizations working for domestic or international peace and justice in which St. Ignatius may actively participate. The Committee organizes monthly sales of Fair Trade coffee, tea, cocoa, chocolate, nuts, dried fruit, and olive oil, as well as periodic collections of groceries for the Catholic Worker Viva House.

LOAVES & FISHES prepares and delivers meals and warm clothing to the poor and homeless in downtown Baltimore on Saturday and Sunday evenings from November to April.

St. Vincent de Paul Society (Cincinnati, OH)
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a non-profit organization assisting the poor, lonely and forgotten to bridge the spiritual, emotional and financial gaps in their lives. St Xavier and Cathedral Conference activities are confined to those neighbors in Over-the Rhine, West End and Downtown area. Volunteers visit, access and evaluate the situation of the individuals who have requested a need prior to providing assistance. Contact the church office if you would like to volunteer.

The St Lawrence O’Toole Conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society is one of the oldest conferences in the United States. Our conference has been active since it was formed in 1865.

Students Taking Responsibility Against Poverty(Strap) (Indianapolis, IN)
An extra-curricular club, STRAP administers a school food bank, Easter baskets, holiday parties for shelter children and neighborhood cleanups. The club also organizes volunteers to tutor and serve at healthcare facilities and agencies servicing the physically and mentally challenged.
The Beck Institute on Religion and Poverty (Bronx, NY)
The Bertram M. Beck Institute on Religion and Poverty is an ecumenical institute that partners with New York City interfaith religious and lay leaders who are moved to alleviate poverty in our affluent society. It is committed to preparing leaders who promote social justice and serve the poor. Founded in 1999 and based at Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service, the Beck Institute promotes interdisciplinary collaboration across University departments and with the broader community.
