ATJI aims to build a community for law students who share a commitment to serving marginalized or underrepresented individuals, communities and causes. ATJI serves as the bridge between academics and action, encouraging students to be leaders for justice.

The Camden Center for Law and Social Justice (CCLSJ) is a privately-funded, non-profit, public-interest law firm dedicated to serving the civil law needs of the working poor. Founded in 1994, CCLSJ concentrates its practice in immigration law, employment and civil rights law, and family and juvenile law. 

This is an education and literacy training for low income families. 

Hollywood Interfaith Sponsoring Committee, a community organization in the PICO network (www.piconetwork.org) which facilitates empowerment activities, leadership training and community organizing in conjunction with Sacred Heart Parish.

Jesuit Volunteers are called to the mission of serving the poor directly. They work for and with people who are homeless, unemployed, refugees, people with AIDS, the elderly, street youth, abused women and children, the mentally ill and the developmentally disabled.

Nativity Fellows are full-time members of the Nativity staff. They teach an average of 2-4 class periods per day while serving as advisors, tutors, proctors, coaches, nurses, janitors, drivers, monitors and all other responsibilities that promote the success of the students’ well-being.

Casa Maria is the community house where fellows serving in Worcester's Nativity School reside.  Life in Casa Maria is an opportunity to form community and to engage in the tough work of sharing responsibility with each other for the myriad details which make life together possible and worth the effort. It is also a unique opportunity to engage in “simple living. ”Simple living" offers Nativity Fellows a chance to “feel” what life on a tight budget means, particularly as the overwhelming majority of Nativity families struggle to make ends meet. The Casa Maria Community attempts to gain a deeper sense of the difficult conditions from which Nativity students come.

Since 1997, Poder has responded to the educational needs of immigrants in the primarily Latino areas of Pilsen/Little Village and Back of the Yards, on Chicago’s southwest side.  In less than ten years, 4,500 students have attended our tuition free classes.

The trip gives students the opportunity to examine the following issues: global poverty, immigration, climate change, and fair trade. All of these issues are aligned with the ideals of the Jesuits, and have a substantial impact on migrants. 

Week long service trip at “Casa de Los Pobres,” a social service agency with a dining room, medical clinic, food distribution, and other necessities. It is run by Sisters of St. Francis.

The Social Justice Ministry responds in prayer and reflection, direct service, education, advocacy, and donations to the needs of the parish, to the social needs in the diverse urban diocese and community who are our neighbors, and beyond these borders to a sister parish and national and international Jesuit social services. When program priorities are being set and choices made about resource allocation, the Ministry actively advocates for preferential treatment for the poor and marginalized in our community in light of the Gospel, Catholic Social Teaching and the priorities of the Jesuit Conference.
